　　报告题目：On the origin of the North Polar Spur: From the perspective of X-ray

    报告摘要：The North Polar Spur (NPS) is a projected structure in our galaxy that can been seen from both the radio band and X-rays, whose origin still remains unclear. Likely scenarios have been put forward, such as an old supernova remnant, or a front caused by strong stellar wind. On this talk, I will introduce the recent work by Gu et al., which presents a possible origin of the NPS through revisiting the archived data of XMM-Newton and Suzaku. As a result, an ionized absorption model is preferred over previous ones which only considered neutral absorption, and even over those including charge exchange. Based on the deduced temperature and metal abundances, the authors claim that the NPS is a structure in the Galactic halo.
