题目:Astronomy Education and Outreach at CSIRO Astronomy and Space Science
报告人:Mr. Robert Hollow(CSIRO Astronomy and Space Science, Australia)
摘要:CSIRO Astronomy and Space Science (CASS) is Australia’s largest astronomy group, operating a range of facilities across the nation. Education and Public Outreach programs are an integral part of CASS. Some of these will be outlined and other explained in depth. These include PULSE@Parkes, a program in which high school students control the 64m Parkes radio telescope remotely in real time to observe and analyse pulsars. The role of a national facility together with the opportunities and challenges faced in tackling EPO are discussed. How this fits within the more extensive education programs of CSIRO are also covered. Opportunities for collaboration and sharing of ideas between CASS and Chinese groups will be raised.
